Where does the library’s money comes from?
  1. County treasurer collects ad valorum tax, i.e., mill levy, and forwards to city clerk who forwards six times a year on dates set by K.S.A. 12-1678a.
  2. City government may give the library additional funding.

  3. CKLS sends system grant three times a year.

  4. State Library of Kansas sends State Aid once a year.

  5. Fines, donations and gifts from local community

  6. eRate participation pays for telephone and Internet connections

  7. Grants received for by librarian and trustees
